The U18 Westport / Castlebar girls amalgamation team had their first game of 2025 against a newly formed Carrick-on-Shannon, who travelled to meet us in Castlebar for a friendly on Sunday. 

The girls in blue were quick to dominate, with Grace Kellett scoring the first 3 tries and Leah Walsh converting 2 of those. 

The Carrick girls began to fight back with some great scores, but some very strong carries finished off by tries scored by Holly Horkan, Aimee Dillon and another by Grace Kellett along with 2 more conversions by Lea sealed the deal for our girls. 

Big shout out to Petra and Sienna who showed great sportsmanship by swapping jerseys and playing for Carrick when their numbers depleted.
