Westport ladies togged out against the current Connacht champions in Tuam RFC yesterday.

Tuam / Oughterard were the first to get on the scoreboard, after 20 minutes of some very competitive rugby from both sides. 
Sorcha Ni Tarpaigh flew over the line on the wing to make the teams level, and T/O scored and converted their 2nd try just before halftime to leave the scoreline tight at just 12-5 to the home side.

Once the 2nd half started, last year’s Cup holders began to pull away, and Westport were unfortunately defeated.

This season was a tough year for the Westport ladies, with a high turnover of players and many matches where they could not even field a full panel of 15. However, that makes the achievement of getting to a Cup semi-final at the end of the season all the more impressive. 

Well done to everyone who has worked so hard on and off pitch this year, to get the team right up to this point. Thank you to all of the supporters who came to Carrowholly and away during the year. 💙
