Westport U14 Girls in Connacht Cup Semi-Final

Westport U14 girls put in a brave and spirited performance in their Cup semi-final against Creggs but were narrowly defeated in a hard-fought contest.
Creggs started strong, crossing the try line within the first five minutes to take an early lead. Their momentum continued as they added another try, making it 12-0. Despite the setback, Westport showed great resilience and fought back. Just before halftime, Victoria powered over for a crucial try, and Millie’s well-struck conversion brought the score to 12-7 at the break.
Westport carried that energy into the second half, with Clodagh scoring a fantastic try within the first two minutes to level the game at 12-12. The match was evenly balanced, but
Creggs responded with another try, nudging ahead 17-12.
Westport battled fiercely for the remainder of the game, showing skill and determination, but despite their best efforts, they couldn’t break through again.
While the result didn’t go their way, the girls can be incredibly proud of their performance and their season as a whole. Well done to all the players and coaches for their hard work and commitment.
